Back to life…

It’s been 6 months since life as we knew it changed. Half a year. WHOA.

March: Learn about a pandemic. What is a pandemic? Should we worry about a pandemic? Stay home. Don’t go outside. At all.

April: Have a better understanding of what a pandemic is. Don’t go outside. Mostly. If you do, wear a mask. Learn more about masks. ZOOM with kids. Have an amazing time.

May: ZOOM. A lot of ZOOM. Go to the store. Wear a mask. Learn about social distancing.

June: It’s summer. Social ZOOM. Social distance. Six feet. Get comfortable doing laps of small park near your house. Wearing a mask.

July: Summer summer. No vacation. Talk about numbers. Different states. “What are their numbers?” Go to nearby “safe” state for 4 hours. Count that as vacation. Clean the house.

August: School. Lots of talk about school. Distance learning, in person learning, hybrid model, remote learning, ZOOM, Google classroom, pod, bubble. Go out to stores. To the park. On a hike. To the cemetery (best place for socially distanced walking). With friends. Only 2 friends. All wearing masks. Order lots of books from the library (contactless pickup).

September: Feel like the world is getting back to “new normal.” Work. School. Different, but doable. SO MANY OPTIONS. SO MANY OPINIONS. Form new bubble. Meet friend for coffee. Mask down when drinking. Otherwise, mask up. Go to the bookstore. Rearrange pantry.

I can do this. I am doing this. When my mind wanders here and there, I bring it back. I am here. I am okay. We can have fun. We WILL have fun. Let’s have fun! I am grateful. I am at peace. I want to help others.
