Accountable

One thing I love about coaching is that it holds you accountable. When I’m coaching someone who wants to get things done, or try out new parenting methods, they check in with me weekly and tell me what they’ve done so far. When I’m the one being coached, I know that my coach will be asking me how it’s going. I have things I want to accomplish, and knowing I’ll be able to talk to someone about how I’m doing keeps me motivated. When I’m stuck, I know there’s some belief I have that’s getting in my way. What is that belief? Why do I feel stuck?

When I figure it out, it can feel really yucky. UGH. And then, right after that, a moment of clarity. Whoa! And then I know what I need to do. It’s an amazing feeling. Change is hard, and uncomfortable, and satisfying!
